The announcement responds directly to growing enterprise demand for a complete Field IQ solution that improves performance in the field, not just another training demonstration. Companies today are asking for a clear path beyond Microsoft HoloLens 2, which is no longer in production and has no announced commercial successor. EON Reality is meeting that need with a practical, deploy-now strategy rather than asking customers to wait. A multi-path strategy — not a single-device bet

What deploys now
EON Field IQ hardware recommendation pack groups the market into four device classes plus hazardous-area options:
- Training centers: Quest-class and enterprise HMDs (with Vision Pro for premium rooms) deliver the highest visual quality and capacity available today for ADNOC-style training centers.
- Live field: iOS/Android devices and rugged or intrinsically safe tablets (including ARCore-ready Tab-Ex class devices) run the recognize → overlay → portal → capture loop where work happens.
- Hazardous Zone 1: RealWear Navigator Z1-class devices plus IS tablets provide hands-free expert guidance and procedures with the certifications oil and gas requires.
- True AR glasses: DigiLens ARGO-class spatial glasses and related enterprise see-through platforms support working Field IQ overlays now; Snap Specs and next-generation consumer/enterprise glasses extend the glasses path through 2026–2027. These are production-ready pilots — deployments that work — not science projects.
- Meta Ray-Ban Display–class smart glasses: useful for capture and AI glance, and kept secondary where full spatial asset anchoring is required.
For customers replacing HoloLens 2
EON Reality is direct with customers who ask for a like-for-like HoloLens replacement: Microsoft has no commercial successor; Dynamics 365 Guides and Remote Assist end support on December 31, 2026; HoloLens device support ends December 31, 2027. Magic Leap 2 can serve as a short optical bridge through 2027 where needed. The durable answer is OpenXR head-mounted displays for training at scale, tablet AR and certified assisted reality for the plant, and working AR glasses where the form factor fits — all feeding the same Field IQ portals and EON Delta flywheel.
