SOUTH AFRICA, February 16, 2022 – EON Reality, the global leader in Augmented and Virtual Reality-based knowledge and skills transfer for industry and education, announced today it is lead sponsor of the inaugural Norval Sovereign African Art Prize, 2022. The sponsorship will go toward supporting contemporary artists working in Africa and of the African diaspora in showcasing their works on the international stage, as well as supporting the Norval Foundation’s educational outreach programme which works with local children, helping them access the arts
Today, Bonolo Kavula is announced as the Grand Prize Winner for their artwork, «Tswelopele.» Kavula will receive 500,000 South African Rand and the opportunity for a solo exhibition at Norval Foundation. The event’s artwork is supported and auctioned by Sotheby’s.
EON Reality and the Norval Sovereign African Art Prize share a common commitment to fully realizing the potential of children and youth from disadvantaged communities and are collaborating on this initiative to create new opportunities for artists from the continent.
