IRVINE, Calif., October 30, 2012 – EON Reality Inc., the world’s leading interactive 3D solutions provider, along with the Southeastern Institute of Manufacturing and Technology (SiMT), recently spoke at the SCTCS Plugged In: Reboot, Redefine, Reconnect Conference in Columbia, South Carolina.  The event was hosted by the South Carolina Technical College System (SCTCS) and focused on the latest emerging trends in technology as well as innovative new ways to incorporate technology into community college instruction.

The Conference focused on five key focal points: mobile computing, social media, online and distance learning, leadership, management, and governance and digital discovery. Frank Botdorf, East Coast Director of Business Development at EON Reality, and Mike Mazen of SiMT, explored how immersive and interactive 3D environments are being used today by engineering professionals for concurrent product design, virtual prototyping, manufacturing, and workforce development. Their discussion highlighted the difficulties of time to market, customization, and product complexity and explained how these challenges can be clearly addressed in virtual environments. The session also looked into SiMT’s partnership with the Clemson University Workforce Development Center to create virtual simulations to improve and enhance technician training in the Automotive and Aeronautical fields.

« The conference was all about how technology can be used to enhance the education process.  3D Interactive and simulation based technologies by EON Reality is a perfect fit for today’s digital native learners, » said Frank Botdorf.  « EON Creator, in particular, provides a very easy to use platform for teachers and college professors to create more interactive and interesting learning presentation – without having to be a super techie. »
