Irvine, CA, October 14, 2026 – EON Reality, together with EON AI Ventures, today announced instant knowledge injection with Field IQ: a new capability that lets anyone point a phone at almost anything, a machine, a photo, a billboard, or a page in a book, and be guided, assisted, and assessed in seconds. Starting from a simple prompt or image, Field IQ recognizes what it is looking at, delivers step-by-step guidance with safety cautions, assists while the work is being done, and produces an assessment report at the end. With more time, one click on Next Step turns the same picture into a full 3D model the user can train on. The process now scales to literally thousands of instructions, on anything.

The capability is shown in a new series of demo videos recorded by EON founder Dan Lejerskar, covering oil and gas, healthcare, defense, mining, aerospace, and agriculture. Watch them at https://eon-field-iq-videos.vercel.app. The thinking behind the launch is set out in an accompanying white paper, “Instant Knowledge Injection: How Field IQ Turns Every Phone into a Trainer,”

Consider an operator standing in front of a pump she has never isolated, a medic facing an unfamiliar anesthesia machine before a case, or a student staring at a diagram in an anatomy textbook. Until now, the answer was the same for all three: wait for the next course, find the manual, or find someone who knows. With Field IQ, each of them lifts a phone, points it, and within seconds knows what they are looking at, what to do next, and whether they did it right.

Training has been an occasional event

For generations, learning and training have been something people do occasionally. You go to a training center. You take a course. You come back to the job and hope the knowledge is still there when the moment arrives. Even the most advanced form of practice, simulation, has been slow to build: creating a training simulation for a single piece of equipment used to take months. The result is a structural gap between when people learn and when they actually need to know.

What is new: knowledge injected at the moment of need

Field IQ closes that gap by turning the phone into a trainer that is available the instant the need appears. There is no course to schedule and, in many cases, no 3D model to build first. Field IQ works from what the user can already see: the equipment in front of them, a photograph, a picture on a website or a screen, a billboard, or a page in a book. It recognizes the object, reads the labels and controls, names the parts, and then works out the order of the steps and writes them.

“Learning and training used to be something you did occasionally. You went to a training center, or you took a course. Field IQ takes that concept to the next level: instant knowledge injection, exactly when you need it. You point your phone, it recognizes what it is, and it guides you, assists you, and then assesses you. Some 7 billion people have a phone. Every one of them can now have a trainer in their pocket.” said Dan Lejerskar, Founder and Chairman, EON Reality and EON AI Ventures.

How it works

  1. Prompt or image. Type what you need, or point the camera at a machine, a picture, a screen, or a page.
  2. Recognize. Field IQ identifies what it is, reads labels, finds buttons and dials, and names the parts.
  3. Guide. Spoken, step-by-step instructions, with safety cautions where they matter.
  4. Assist. Help on the spot while you work, with photo checks that confirm each step is done.
  5. Assess. A full report: start time, time taken, parts named, steps completed, evidence.
  6. Next Step: 3D. With more time, click Next Step and turn the picture into a full 3D model you can train on. The procedure can then be run on the model, in the user’s own room.

Recognized machines are saved, so the next time the user comes back they are already there. Every session ends with a full report, including the start time, the time taken, the parts named, and which steps were completed, along with photo checks and an evidence pack that can feed directly into Assess IQ.

Where it works

If the physical equipment is available, the user does the procedure on the physical equipment. If it is not, Field IQ works just as well from a picture. The same capability runs:

  • Physical equipment: Work the procedure on the real machine in front of you.
  • In the field: On site, on shift, at the asset, with the phone already in your pocket.
  • In simulation: Practice on a 3D model generated from the same picture, in your own room.
  • Billboards and pictures: A photo, a poster, a website, or an image on a screen is enough to start.
  • Books: Point at a textbook page and it guides you. The anatomy book opens up.

Seen in the demos: from refineries to vertical farms

The 12 demo videos released today, each filmed live on a phone, show Field IQ working across oil and gas, healthcare, defense, mining, aerospace, and agriculture:

  • Oil & Gas: Guided Pump Isolation from a Photo; Condensate Stabilizer Startup Checks.
  • Mining: Grinding Mill Lockout & Inspection Prep; Haul Truck Wheel Removal, Guided & Assessed.
  • Aerospace: Satellite Clean Room Test Stand Guidance; Jet Engine Inspection, Verified in Seconds.
  • Healthcare: Anesthesia Check, Engine Swap; ICU Hospital Bed Positioning Guidance.
  • Defense: Armored Vehicle Engine Removal Guidance; Ship Engine Room Emergency Stop Procedure.
  • Agriculture: Nutrient Dosing Station Startup Check; AI-Guided Vertical Farming Procedures.

Across the demos, Field IQ spots regions in an image, finds buttons and dials, reads labels, and names parts, from overhead vapor piping and a reboiler exchanger to a grinding mill’s inching drive and a jet engine’s fan section. It issues step-by-step instructions with safety cautions, uses photo checks to confirm that steps are done, and produces a full report that records whether it worked from a photo or the real equipment, the parts identified, and where every step came from. Demo reports show complete procedures in 29 to 56 seconds, from a satellite clean room test stand to a mining haul truck wheel removal.

Beyond industry: education

The same process works far beyond the plant floor. Point a phone at a book and Field IQ guides you through it. Point it at an anatomy book and the anatomy opens up. Textbooks, diagrams, posters, and pictures become starting points for guided, interactive learning, and the learner can be assessed on the spot. In Dan Lejerskar’s words, it can be anything.

Where the knowledge comes from

Users choose the source of the knowledge behind every procedure:

  • Your own documents: Permits, operation manuals, SOPs, and the equipment manual.
  • Online documents: Documents Field IQ finds online for the recognized equipment.
  • Expert know-how: The judgment of experienced people, captured and reused.
  • Ask Tacit: Draws on EON Tacit, which preserves the living memory of experts.
  • Built with AI: AI-built instructions when no document exists yet.

Field IQ keeps the safety principles EON has built into the product from the start. On a safety-critical step, an uncertain assistant asks a human instead of bluffing, and everything is on the record: steps, photo checks, timing, and outcomes are captured in the report for review and audit.

The speed story: months, then minutes, now seconds

Speed is the heart of the announcement. Building a training simulation used to take months. EON’s earlier AI-assisted simulation authoring brought that down to about half an hour. With Field IQ’s instant knowledge injection, recognition, guidance, assistance, and assessment that used to take hours now take seconds. In the demos, complete guided procedures took between 29 and 56 seconds.

“The key is speed. A simulation used to take months. We took that down to maybe half an hour. Now we are talking seconds. Guidance, assistance, and assessment that used to take hours now take seconds, and it can be anything: a pump in the field, a picture on a website, a billboard, or an anatomy book that opens up in front of you.” said Dan Lejerskar.

Reach: some 7 billion phones

Field IQ’s instant knowledge injection runs on the device people already carry. Some 7 billion people have a phone. That means expert guidance no longer has to be scheduled, shipped, or staffed; it can reach a technician on a remote site, a clinician on a ward, a soldier in a motor pool, a farmer in a grow room, or a student at a kitchen table, at the moment they need it, and it can scale to thousands of procedures.

Part of EON’s Intelligence Flywheel

Instant knowledge injection extends Field IQ’s role in EON’s Intelligence Flywheel, the self-reinforcing loop that captures expert judgment, puts it in front of every worker, verifies what actually happens, and improves with every job:

  • Genesis turns expert knowledge and procedures into governed, step-by-step 3D simulations.
  • Field IQ delivers the procedure at the point of work, now from a phone pointed at anything, and asks a human when unsure.
  • Assess IQ verifies competency and records the difference between the manual and what was actually done.
  • Work Intelligence compounds every verified action into the organization’s knowledge, so each procedure gets sharper over time.

Each recognized machine, completed procedure, and assessment report feeds the loop, which is how one phone pointed at one machine becomes part of a growing library of thousands of procedures.
