Showcasing new software applications designed in association with WorldSkills UK specifically for arts and technology colleges, the company will be demonstrating how Virtual 3D Learning can be used to teach a variety of trades including plumbing, floristry, aeronautical engineering and cabinetmaking.

Created at EON Reality’s European headquarters in Manchester by specialist 3D artists and developers, the 3D Learning software applications have been created to support vocational courses for 16 – 18 year old school leavers and 19+ adults who want to learn a skill or retrain.

Ken Swain, Managing Director of EON Reality in the UK said: «It’s been great working with WorldSkills UK experts to produce these innovative new software applications for adult education colleges.  The training specialists have offered a valuable insight into what was needed to convey their learning concepts and we’ve created a solution that will help students learn faster, better and improve pass rates. The immersive technology allows trainees to experience things from a new and enlightened perspective, making understanding easier.»

Victoria Richards, WorldSkills UK Alumni describing the Floristry version of the software said: «As a design tool it is very cost effective.  Rather than cutting up lots and lots of flowers and using materials up, in Virtual 3D you can just pull them apart, do something else and then put them together again.  It’s brilliant.»

On the cabinetmaking and joinery package, Martin James, Commercial Director & Company Secretary for Didac, (a leading national training provider to the furniture, wood and merchant industries), said: «So many areas of woodworking are difficult to convey.  Virtual 3D Learning is a fantastic mechanism for overcoming those barriers or hurdles:  a way of exposing more learners – at an early stage – to the potential of woodworking machinery, and to help them engage with wood.»

EON Reality will be demonstrating the technology on stand 2-254 (opposite the large public picnic area) in Hall 2 from 14 – 16 November 2014.
