The XR rollout will aid the organization’s efforts in educating and training Indigenous people.
IRVINE, CA, October 12, 2021 – EON Reality, the global leader in Augmented and Virtual Reality-based knowledge and skills transfer for industry and education, announces a new EON-XR rollout for Seven Generations Education Institute (SGEI) in Ontario, Canada.
Rather than focusing on a single location with large-scale hardware, the EON-XR rollout will focus on bringing EON Reality’s flagship solution to 1,500 SGEI students and faculty members. In addition to providing these world-class solutions to the users, the new XR rollout also shows the institute’s commitment to bringing the best technology available to those it helps, both for academic purposes as well as career training.
As one of the largest Indigenous-led education institutions, SGEI’s focus has always been on better education, career training, and cultural programming for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in their home base of Canada’s Treaty Three area. This large and diverse population provides a unique opportunity for EON Reality to reach the next generation of students, employees, and entrepreneurs throughout the area, making it the perfect setup for the blend of academic learning and real-world practical career training that only EON-XR can provide.
“Working with Seven Generations Education Institute allows us a very unique opportunity to help a group of people with EON-XR’s technology. By providing them with this EON-XR rollout, we’re not only committing to delivering our top-of-the-line solutions and possibilities to them, but also to helping bring them into the future with their academic and vocational training. Through these possibilities, we can open up entirely new subjects to teach as well as new ways to distribute the material and information they’ve been working with already.”Dan LejerskarFounder of EON Reality
The EON-XR rollout will provide new ways for students and instructors to incorporate XR lessons into their daily education routine, while also allowing those interested in the technology to familiarize themselves with it. Thanks to SGEI’s wide network of connections and influence, there’s also the possibility that the XR solutions will reach local businesses through the training and education of the workforce, which will allow companies large and small to increase their own efficiency and production.
“EON-XR technology will encourage new ways of delivering cultural curriculum and engage our students and First Nations community members in the future of learning. We envision a technologically advanced educational setting for our community, where students and trainees can engage with their culture and course materials in captivating new ways that inspire excitement and a desire for learning.”Brent TookenayCEO of SGEI
SGEI plans to incorporate EON-XR technology into its language revitalization classes, employment training programs and various post-secondary programs including Practical Nursing, Building Construction and Paramedic.
