The new initiative is built to transform and augment UBT’s existing curriculum in architecture, design engineering and medical sciences for remote learning.

In addition to serving as a major university in the Western Balkans and a European role model for an entrepreneurial and innovation-based university, UBT is also the home of one of EON Reality’s top international EON-XR Centers. Through this partnership, UBT students and professors will be utilizing EON-XR to create approximately 20,000 lessons — on subjects spanning 20 different programs — over the course of the next two months. High-level educators and experts will then select the best of the batch to supplement the existing featured curricula for various subjects already on EON-XR.
The push to add more lessons to the thousands already available through the company’s flagship product comes as both educators and employers around the world turn to EON-XR as a means to learn and train remotely during the current COVID-19 pandemic. As outlined in the Global Emergency Initiative, EON Reality’s primary goal is to provide as many AR and VR lessons and resources as possible to the people who need them most.
With other members of EON Reality’s global network also joining the self-directed learning movement as a way to effectively educate current students while also preparing their curricula for the future, the addition of the extra lessons will allow schools and businesses around the world to obtain and maintain comprehensive online courses for daily usage through EON-XR. Ultimately, the goal is to build a catalog of enough high-quality lessons to offer full academic curricula in numerous subjects and languages to educators and administrators for use in both remote learning as well as in-person classes.
Combined with the recent announcement of the removal of the paywall on EON-XR as a means to assist schools, governments, and businesses struggling through this difficult time, EON Reality is hoping to combat the negative experiences people are currently having with remote learning and training. Statistics show that only 25% of students and teachers find online teaching as effective as its classroom equivalent, and the average person begins to lose interest in a video lecture in approximately 6 minutes.
With the interactive and immersive experience of EON-XR — as well as the practical implementation guide laid out in the Chief Learning Officer’s note on self-directed learning initiative — EON Reality believes that online learning can be done much more effectively with the right tools and mindset. Just because classes cannot meet in person doesn’t mean that the interaction and education gained from the traditional classroom experience can’t be replicated in a digital environment.
