The partnership will begin with an EON-XR rollout for the largest school in Honduras.

EON Reality, the global leader in Augmented and Virtual Reality-based knowledge and skills transfer for industry and education, announces a new partnership with National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH) to bring a campus-wide EON-XR rollout to the institution.

As the largest and most renowned university in Honduras, UNAH’s lengthy history has seen the school’s focus shift from traditional learning to the remote and e-learning opportunities made possible by modern technology. But during the COVID-19 pandemic, UNAH quickly realized that they needed to improve their “hands-on” abilities for remote labs and other interactive learning experiences. That’s why they’ve partnered with EON Reality to deliver an EON-XR rollout to their students and faculty.

“For a school with the size and importance of UNAH, being able to offer an immersive and interactive learning experience both in the classroom and remotely will always be of the utmost importance. Through EON-XR, we hope to be able to provide a solution that can make their online learning and in-person experiences better than ever before. I look forward to continuing our partnership with UNAH.”

Not only is UNAH’s sheer size a strong reason to disseminate EON-XR throughout the students and faculty, but its geographic diversity with campuses throughout the country is a boon as well. In addition to the primary campus in University City, UNAH’s satellite locations give students in more remote parts of the nation the possibility of using advanced XR solutions as well. Through this nationwide rollout, the hope is for EON Reality’s presence in the area to expand the XR solutions beyond any campus walls and to both educators and employers throughout the entire region.

“Our institution feels very privileged to be a part of the EON Reality family and to set up the first Extended Reality Center in the Central American region. We see multiple benefits with this deployment of EON-XR for our students, our faculties and especially for the workforce of our community. During 2020, our country, Honduras, and the Central American region was not only affected by the COVID-19 pandemic but was also affected by the natural disasters of hurricanes Eta and Iota; in that sense, it is necessary to promote virtual training with greater determination, and value it as a key for the construction of digital competitiveness and as a tool for the reactivation of the post-pandemic economy. We know that this project will benefit our academic institution, our students, our faculty, and will also have a positive impact on our industry; not only in Honduras, but also in the Central American region.”
