IRVINE, CA – October 12, 2026 – EON Reality, together with EON AI Ventures, today announced that it is bringing EON Field IQ, its work intelligence platform, to Meta VR Glasses, the lightweight glasses Meta announced on 23 September 2026. Point Field IQ at any machine, even one you have never worked on, and it guides you through the job, assists you with experts at your side, and assesses every step, warning you before a mistake. EON believes Field IQ is the first industrial work-guidance application designed for Meta VR Glasses, and a world first for hands-free guidance at the machine. Work Intelligence takes its next big step

Until now, head-worn guidance in industry has meant specialist hardware, bought a few units at a time for pilots. Meta VR Glasses are a consumer product. Meta says they weigh about 100 grams, show the real room in full colour with depth sensing, and are worked by the eyes, a finger tap and the voice. They run the same system and store as Meta Quest, and they go on sale in spring 2027 at $1,299.99. At that price a company can equip whole crews. For Work Intelligence, that is the step from pilot to workforce.

What Field IQ does on the glasses

Guide. A worker looks at a machine and Field IQ names its parts, pinned to the real equipment in 3D. Each step of the job floats beside the machine, with the part lit up and the motion drawn, and the worker says « next », « back » or « check ». Assess. A photo check answers Done, Not yet or Can’t tell, and if a step is skipped, Field IQ warns the worker out loud: « Stop. » Hazard Hunt puts a ring on a spill or a blocked exit that stays in the room. For training, the same glasses switch to full VR: an EON Genesis lesson’s machine stands at real size, and the trainee walks round it before meeting the real one. Same app, same steps, same report: every job ends in a signed record and an EON Assess IQ report.

Because the glasses run the same system as Meta Quest, Field IQ loads straight onto them. No companion app on a phone is needed. In Field IQ the glasses’ cameras are used for the job, to name parts and check steps.

Assist: experts at your side, as holograms

Meta VR Glasses introduce hologram calling: a realistic, life-size caller appears in the room, with their voice where they stand, in WhatsApp, Zoom Workplace and other calling apps. EON plans to add what a call alone cannot do. With Field IQ, experts who join a worker at the machine will see what the worker sees: the live view, the named parts and the current step. They can mark the exact part, and the call becomes part of the job’s signed record. Several experts can help at once: the safety lead, the maker’s engineer and the supervisor. At launch, hologram calls run in the calling app alongside Field IQ; group holograms and holograms inside third-party apps depend on Meta opening them to developers, which Meta has said it will do.

Aimed at a problem measured in lives

The International Labour Organization estimates that about 900 people die in work accidents every day, and that poor safety and health costs about 4 per cent of world GDP; the 2017 global estimate put it at about US$3 trillion a year. In the United States, OSHA estimates that following the lockout/tagout rule, the procedure Field IQ was first built around, prevents about 120 deaths and 50,000 injuries a year.

« This is what we have been dreaming about, » said Dan Lejerskar, Founder and Chairman of EON Reality. « Finally there is a device made for Work Intelligence. For the first time in the world, a worker can wear it: point at any machine, even one you have never seen, and Field IQ guides you, assists you and assesses you. It is like being superhuman, with a voice that says ‘Stop, don’t do that’ before you make a mistake, and experts standing next to you as holograms who see exactly what you see. Every day about 900 people lose their lives in work accidents, and poor safety costs the world some three trillion dollars a year. We built Field IQ to help save those lives. At a consumer price we can now put it on whole workforces, not just a few pilots. We are the leaders in Work Intelligence, and we intend to be ready on day one. »

Availability

EON Field IQ runs today on iPhone and iPad, on Meta Ray-Ban Display with a phone, and as a preview on Meta Quest. EON is developing on Meta Quest 3, which runs the same system as Meta VR Glasses, and plans to be ready for Meta’s spring 2027 launch, subject to Meta’s developer access. EON plans to offer Field IQ as a kit: the glasses, the Field IQ licence, EON Genesis content and EON Assess IQ, per crew. EON also expects to serve customers outside Meta’s launch countries, subject to local rules. Meta has not yet announced whether apps can use the cameras on Meta VR Glasses, or business terms for the device.
