Approximately 200 students will create up to 500 lessons for EON-XR starting this month.

EON Reality, the global leader in Augmented and Virtual Reality-based knowledge and skills transfer for industry and education, announces the latest large-scale adoption of the recent self-directed learning initiative at Al Akhawayn University in Morocco.

Located in the city of Ifrane, Al Akhawayn University serves as one of the top liberal arts-style universities in the Middle East and Africa region. As EON Reality expands across the region, the two organizations are forging a partnership to have the school’s top students create as many as 500 high-quality AR and VR lessons on EON-XR throughout the next month.

While this first batch of lessons will primarily focus on the university’s Bachelor of Science in General Engineering program, plans are already in place to expand later this year to a variety of other subjects such as cyber-physical systems, engineering decision support systems, manufacturing and logistics, and renewable energy systems. Once developed by students, high-level educators and experts will then select the best of the batch to supplement the existing curricula for those subjects already on EON-XR.

As noted in the previous announcement about the University for Business and Technology in Kosovo becoming the first major university to join the initiative, EON Reality is currently looking to add many more lessons to the thousands already available through the company’s flagship product. With the Global Emergency Initiative assisting both educators and employers around the world who have turned to EON-XR as a way to effectively train and educate throughout the current COVID-19 pandemic, EON Reality’s primary goal is to provide as many AR and VR lessons and resources as possible to the people who need them most.

“"Making a difference in this COVID-19 pandemic requires a combination of technical skills and human values. At Al Akhawayn University, we pride ourselves in providing a 21st century education where students learn and leverage knowledge, science, and technology to best serve their community, their country, and other humans. We're very enthusiastic about the project our engineering faculty and students are embarking on with EON Reality, and we look forward to all the exciting new ways in which our students learn and our faculty contribute to their industry partners."”

Dr. Hassan DarhmaouiDirector of the Center for Learning Technologies at Al Akhawayn University

In addition to the lessons created, EON Reality will also be training 10 of the top faculty members at Al Akhawayn University to help conduct the self-directed learning initiative far beyond the scope of the initial partnership.

““Partnering with academic facilities like Al Akhawayn University gives us the opportunity to reach thousands of people who we wouldn’t otherwise have access to. When creating and distributing some of the best AR and VR lessons around the world, it’s important to be able to work with a wide variety of schools, governments, businesses, and other major fixtures of local and national communities. I’m very excited to see what the future holds for both EON Reality and Al Akhawayn University, and I believe this is a great first step.””
