EON Reality’s Innovative XR Solution Earns «XR Healthcare Solution of the Year» Nomination for Pediatric Patient Care

Competing in the «XR Healthcare Solution of the Year» category, EON Reality’s groundbreaking project in collaboration with the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) has garnered significant acclaim for its innovative approach to pediatric patient care.
Being named a finalist in such esteemed international awards underscores the monumental impact of EON Reality’s work in the healthcare sector. The augmented reality module, known as Choco’s Sea Adventure, has been recognized for its unique ability to support post-surgical pediatric patients by promoting early ambulation—a critical factor in enhancing healing and preventing complications. This recognition not only highlights the ingenuity of the technology but also its real-world applicability and effectiveness in improving patient outcomes.
Choco’s Sea Adventure was designed to tackle the challenges faced in pediatric post-surgical care, such as pain management, patient motivation, and parent anxiety. Originally launched in 2022, the module had to be temporarily paused due to the resurgence of COVID-19. However, its re-launch has enabled CHOC’s clinical care teams to offer this innovative solution to nearly 50 patients, leading to improved parent and patient satisfaction, increased mobility, and reduced length of hospital stays. Furthermore, the module has contributed to an unexpected boost in staff morale and job satisfaction, providing a much-needed respite from widespread clinical burnout.
