EON Reality, the world’s leading Virtual and Augmented Reality company, is continuing its commitment to boosting the region’s digital economy with the creation of 10 new developer jobs at their European headquarters in Manchester. All ten new software developers are graduates from the company’s VR (Virtual Reality) Innovation Academy based in Central Park, east Manchester.

“In September we will be welcoming our next intake of students to the VR Innovation Academy. This training leads to employment with EON Reality or another organisation specialising within the creative and digital content sector, so our students play a big part in Manchester’s future success as a leading digital city.”

The EON Reality VR Innovation Academy supports up to 100 talented individuals a year in developing skills in 3D/VR design and development, programming and application creation. Upon completion of the program, over half of the successful students will be recruited to join the EON Reality team.

The Academy is fully funded by EON reality with no fees incurred by students. It is a training course and teaches students using current state of the art technology, and is taught by 3D experts from all over the globe. Unlike a typical academic course, EON Reality offer the opportunity to develop applications and work under supervision of our experts that are being used by today’s businesses and educators.

The Academy is 10 months of learning about all aspects of the 3D world, and expands across areas of programming, application development, design and much more. It is aimed at individuals who have some knowledge of digital content, 3D web media, programming, modelling and/or animation software, an aptitude for creative digital content – whether that be coding, real-time 3D engine, modelling or animation, together with a passion to succeed.

The free, training course has 100 places for the talented students aged eighteen years and above, interested in a career in interactive 3D content creation. Anyone who is interested in being a 3D developer, 3D artist or 2D/3D creative and has a basic understanding of 3D and digital media technologies can apply. The course starts on 7th September 2015.

For those applying who have not been in higher education, the course offers the option of an HNC in Interactive 3D Content Development in partnership with The Manchester College. Student loan funding to support living expenses can also be accessed through Student Finance England.
