This new partnership will help further bring Augmented and Virtual Reality training applications to Africa and beyond.

IRVINE, CA, November 20, 2019 – A United Nations agency, the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITC ILO) and EON Reality have partnered for an innovative initiative to tackle some of the most difficult and important problems of the 21st century.

Last month marked the beginning of the collaborative research and development program to help lessen a few massive global problems such as inequality and sustainability through the use of Augmented and Virtual Reality technologies.

The first workshop saw each of the six different groups of participants from ITC ILO expose the specific challenge they were trying to solve and begin to discuss ways to tackle them. Huge societal challenges such as sexual harassment, violence, difficulties women experience in the work environment, and sustainability in developing countries were some of the many areas ITC ILO is attempting to target.

The UN representatives were exposed to a variety of different technologies and case studies on how AR and VR technologies are capable of assisting with such nuanced and complicated problems. The participants then learned to use and create lessons using EON Reality’s EON-XR Platform.

EON Reality’s Director of Global Education and Training, Marcin Kasica, expanded on the immense opportunities provided by EON-XR as a self-service creation and distribution solution for AR and VR content.

By utilizing EON-XR effectively, ITC ILO will be able to test their solutions with their target audience and directly gather data in a cost-effective way, as the testers will only require an internet connection and a smartphone.

We had a great immersive learning and co-creation day at EON Reality. Access to the platform is a first step. Access to our colleagues’ mindsets on how to create new learning experiences will be a second important step.

With diving into new learning modalities and experiences, we need to start from new pedagogical models and paradigms. We’re looking forward to continuing this learning journey.https://eonreality.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/workshop-in-progress-united-nations-scaled-1.jpgIn the following weeks, ITC ILO and EON Reality will collaborate on creating a variety of lessons within EON-XR with the goal of testing the effectiveness of the approach to solving these problems. Each team representing the UN will then provide their solutions to the locations struggling with each issue in order to gather data through analytics and feedback.

Eventually, each team will be able to create a more detailed and complex AR and/or VR solution for their specific topic in the hope of creating significant change in the communities who need it the most.About EON Reality
