Los Angeles City College will be bringing EON Reality’s academic VR and AR solutions to students in the near future.
EON Reality, the global leader in Augmented and Virtual Reality-based knowledge and skills transfer for industry and education, announces Los Angeles City College (LACC) as the latest academic institution to begin using its VR and AR solutions.
The new endeavor marks one of the biggest agreements of its kind in Southern California where EON Reality is based. Through this deal, LACC’s 19,000+ students and faculty members will be able to create, use, and distribute fully interactive and immersive VR and AR lessons both while functioning remotely and upon returning to the classroom. This was made possible through the work of the college and the Los Angeles City College Foundation.
“The LACC Foundation has established itself as a leader among the community college foundations in California. Our involvement with EON Reality’s association with the College is yet another instance of our Foundation bringing a tremendous opportunity to the students and faculty of LACC. We are proud to have played a role in creating this partnership.”
Robert SchwartzExecutive Director, Los Angeles City College Foundation
Considering LACC’s role in shaping both academic and vocational training accessibility throughout the area, EON Reality believes the partnership will be invaluable for not only EON-XR’s presence in California, but also across the U.S. Based on previous successes with some of the company’s other partners around the world, like Vaal University of Technology in South Africa and the Swiss Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, LACC has the potential to become one of the leading North American power users of EON Reality’s flagship service.
In addition to their own usage, LACC will also be able to contribute to the academic VR and AR lesson-creation goals for the entire English-speaking world. Similarly to how many of EON Reality’s international partners have designed and shared lessons in both English as well as their native tongues (as seen in the company’s existing application highlights), EON-XR’s existing library will continue to grow with the experiences distributed by LACC in the fields in which they have expertise.
“Being able to partner with a local institution like LACC during a time of crisis for so many students and educators is truly a blessing for us. We have done so much to make our products and services available to those who need them around the world, but now EON Reality can make a significant difference in our own backyard. I certainly hope that this is the beginning of a long and bountiful relationship and would love to look at expanding in any way possible.”
Dan LejerskarFounder, EON Reality
As academic institutions around the world continue to look at VR and AR remote learning possibilities as a means to improve their educational standards both from home and once classrooms are allowed to open again, EON Reality has shifted its focus to be easier to use and more accessible for instructors and students alike. By enabling end-users with tools such as a full-time customer support team as well as the self-help Resource Center, institutions like LACC are able to utilize EON-XR to fit any needs they may have both during and after the beginning of the reopening process.
“LACC is so excited to have this technology available to our faculty and our students. This remarkable tool will enhance the learning for all of our students, beginning with our Nursing Program students. We look forward to bringing more of these technology tools to our students for super-enhanced learning. Ever since my first demo of this amazing system, I knew I had to bring it to the faculty and students of LACC.”

About Los Angeles City College
Los Angeles City College is a public, two-year community college located west of downtown in a diverse and densely populated area of Los Angeles. The demographics of LACC’s student body reflect the surrounding communities: more than 45 percent are the first in their families to attend college, the majority come from low-income households, and 21 percent speak a language other than English at home. LACC educates and provides targeted services for traditionally underrepresented populations, including economically disadvantaged students, veteran and active-duty students, former foster youth, formerly incarcerated students, undocumented students, single parents, students with disabilities, and students learning English as a second language. LACC’s associate’s degree, career-technical, transfer, and foundational skills programs provide students the means to secure better jobs, higher wages, and a path out of poverty for themselves and their families. For over 90 years, through the education and empowerment of its students, LACC continues to improve the welfare of the communities it serves, close persistent equity gaps, and prepare future community leaders.
