The collaboration will bring VR technology to California’s at-risk and special needs children.

EON Reality, the global leader in Augmented and Virtual Reality-based knowledge and skills transfer for industry and education, announces a new AR and VR pilot program with the Los Angeles-based Educating Young Minds.

Known for helping underprivileged, at-risk, and special needs children throughout Southern California, Educating Young Minds is built around providing opportunities to students who wouldn’t otherwise have them. This mentality is very similar to EON Reality’s core belief that knowledge is a human right and its mission to make AR and VR academic solutions available to as many people as possible.

“Working with an organization like Educating Young Minds is the most fulfilling kind of partnership we can form. I’m very excited that we’re able to help some of the less-fortunate children in our own area, and I look forward to seeing how this partnership can expand in the future.”

In addition to providing dozens of students with access to technology that they wouldn’t otherwise have through this VR pilot program, EON Reality’s new focus on self-directed learning will teach both the students and instructors to create their own immersive and interactive lessons through the Resource Center and other self-help tools. Of course, this is on top of the thousands of pre-designed lessons already available through EON Reality’s library (including the application highlights created by students and educators from around the world).

Although initially relatively modest in scope, the pilot program brings about the opportunity to work together significantly more in the future in a number of possible directions. As Educating Young Minds and EON Reality both look to assist in the academic pursuits of those most drastically affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and associated educational closures, the two entities may look to expand their relationship sooner rather than later as a means to enable greater positive changes as soon as possible.

“Equity in Education and Access with dignity is everyone’s responsibility. EON Reality realizes the need to introduce their Augmented and Virtual Reality-based knowledge platforms to organizations that serve marginalized, low-income, at-risk youth. Together we are leveraging relationships, expanding the minds of our youth, and introducing computer tech opportunities they could never have imagined!”
