New from virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) software developer EON Reality Inc., is a mobile-based application called EON EON-XR (Augmented Virtual Reality). The company specialises in VR-based knowledge transfer for industry, education, and edutainment, with the new app aimed at teachers and students.
EON EON-XR will enable users to create, share, collaborate, and publish AR and VR content. The app contains with a large AR/VR component library and assessment database to help build unique learning experiences. Its designed to help students and teachers quickly design interactive learning content directly on their tablets, smartphones, VR head-mounted displays (HMDs), or AR glasses without the need for programming skills. Functions of the app include: Browse – Pre-existing 3D objects and 3D environments in the EON Experience VR Library; Populate – Place your 3D objects in the 3D scene; Scale – The size of the selected 3D objects; Configure, Build, and Plan – Combine different objects, and lay them out in the scene; Annotate – Add information to objects and scenes by attaching information such as name, description of the object, other Media, YouTube, Wikipedia, and PowerPoint presentations to the specific object or subcomponent.
While EON EON-XR has been announced it won’t be available just yet. The official launch will be at the EON Experience Fest 2016 in Laval, France on March 16-17th.
