“Texas has been an important market for EON Reality throughout our companies existence,” said Dan Lejerskar, Chairman of EON Reality. “We’re looking forward to a fruitful partnership with the City of Duncanville to address the needs of the Dallas-Ft. Worth market. We are also excited about the ability to develop some unique knowledge transfer applications that utilizes Duncanville’s subject matter expertise.”

Texas’ rapid economic growth and the location of fifty-two Fortune 500 companies has created significant Augmented and Virtual Reality opportunities in the region. With a focus on Education, Energy, Transportation, Medical, and Sports, the Duncanville Entrepreneur School will meet the increasing demands from the North Texas economy as this growth continues.

The center provides solutions for local industry in the areas of training, maintenance, repair, and operations.

“The increased demand for Virtual Reality training solutions across all market segments is exposing a large need for skilled 3D artists, modelers, and programmers,” said Mats Johansson, CEO and President of EON Reality. “The Duncanville Entrepreneur School is a great example of how EON Reality is bringing our fifteen years of experience into regions that need these VR/AR skills. The students that graduate from the Duncanville school will form the foundation of a Virtual Reality based economy around Duncanville.”

The curriculum for the Entrepreneur School is divided into two distinct phases. The first is a three month training program that teaches students the basics of Augmented and Virtual Reality such as: 3D modeling, animation, and basic scripting. The next phase comprises real life project work that will give students the opportunity to add projects for regional and global companies to their portfolios. Students will be mentored by global Virtual Reality experts and have the opportunity to tap into EON Reality’s global development network.

“The City of Duncanville is very excited about its partnership with EON Reality to establish an Entrepreneur School in Duncanville, said David Green, Mayor of Duncanville. Graduates from our school will have the opportunity to be greatly impacted by the expertise they will learn from their education. The City’s goal is that our graduates will utilize this knowledge to create technology for spin-off businesses that will positively impact society and remain in Duncanville, both as residents and business owners.”

Duncanville’s investment in this center rests on a strategy of establishing local industries of the future and tapping into the entrepreneurial spirit found main streets across America.

“We recognize that this school will offer our city the ability to be at the forefront of locating businesses to our community that will greatly impact how knowledge is transferred, particularly in the areas of education, energy, transportation, medical and sports,” said Stan Smith, President of Duncanville Community & Economic Development Corporation (DCEDC). “The DCEDC will have a process in place to assist graduating entrepreneurs in starting a business in Duncanville as well as locating other VR based companies to the city. Our goal is to become the edutainment capital of Texas. Virtual-reality based companies are the key to our success.”
