I. Overview

The EON Spatial AI R&D Grant is an exclusive funding opportunity designed to empower academic institutions, researchers, and educators to develop and implement cutting-edge projects that leverage advanced Spatial AI technologyEON AI Assistant, and  Spatial Academy. This program aims to foster collaboration and strengthen partnerships between EON Reality and academic institutions, driving the integration of immersive learning solutions into the education ecosystem and promoting innovative research across various disciplines.

By providing financial support, technical resources, access to an extensive library of assets, and expertise from industry professionals, the EON Spatial AI R&D Grant enables selected institutions to fully harness the power of Spatial AI, EON AI Assistant, and the EON Spatial Academy. This allows them to create engaging, interactive, and immersive learning experiences that improve educational outcomes and better prepare students for the rapidly evolving workforce.

II. Benefits

The EON Reality’s Spatial AI R&D Grant Program offers selected institutions:

  • Financial support in the form of a grant amounting up to $6,552,000.00 USD, which covers various EON products and services

III. Solution offered by EON with this grant

The EON Spatial AI R&D Grant offers the following solutions to selected institutions:

  1. EON Spatial AI: A suit of advanced AI technology that integrates immersive, interactive, and engaging learning experiences into various educational settings.
    1. EON AI Assistant: A cutting-edge AI-driven avatar that can see, hear, and interact with the world around it, providing a unique and effective teaching and learning experience.
    2. EON Train AI: A tool that simplifies and accelerates the process of training AI on specific organizational data without compromising quality.
    3. EON SoftSkills: A platform that merges AI, augmented reality, and immersive experiences to redefine skill development for numerous industries.
  2. EON Spatial AI Programs: A suite of programs designed to provide support and resources for institutions to implement and develop immersive learning solutions.
  3. Use Cases: Various applications of EON’s technologies across different industries and fields, showcasing the versatility and impact of EON’s solutions in addressing real-world challenges.
IV. Eligibility

Only invited candidates are eligible for the EON Spatial AI R&D Grant. The program has been developed for organizations that are seeking XR-based research solutions and opportunities to commercialize their research and currently lack the required platforms and funding to conduct such research.

V. How does it work?

If the Application is approved, EON Learn of Life issues a Certificate of Approval and EON Reality and the Applicant sign an Offer Letter to set up a research study as follows:

  • Upon EON Reality and the Local Partner sign the Offer Letter agreement to set up the EON Program, EON Reality shall deliver the EON Spatial AI Platform, EON-XR Platform, EON Merged XR, EON Spatial Meeting, EON Metaverse Builder, EON Interact, EON Train AI, EON SoftSkills, and EON AI Assistant, for up to 5000 students & 750 work/internships upfront & Hardware. All licenses are Perpetual for Usage of created lessons. EON also provides an option to cover up to 95.4% of the creation licenses.
  • EON Reality guarantees hereby up to a $6,552,000.00 USD Grant in form of an in-kind co investment from EON and a donation through EON Reality Learn for Life to cover the 100% cost of the EON-XR Program for Year 1.
  • The Local Partner has an Option but not an obligation to extend the Offer Letter for Year 2 to 5 and receive additional grants where EON will cover up to 95.4% of the cost of the Research Grant Program.
  • Upon EON Reality’s delivery of the EON-XR platform, the Local Partner shall pay a grant a one-time guarantee fee of  as low as 4.6%, depending on the merits of the application, of the EON-XR Program value i.e., a total $300,000 within five (5) days.
VI. Grant Application Process

To apply for the EON Spatial AI R&D Grant, interested institutions must complete the following steps:

  1. Review the detailed description of the grant, background, and process to apply.
  2. Evaluate the EON Spatial AI technology, EON AI Assistant, EON Train AI, EON SoftSkills, EON Spatial AI Programs, and Use Cases that the grant covers.
  3. Complete the grant application form, which consists of 13 qualifying questions below.
  4. Submit the application form for evaluation.

If the Application is approved, EON Learn of Life issues a Certificate of Approval and EON Reality and the Applicant sign an Offer Letter to set up a research study as follows:

VII. Grant Process

Only applications received by November 30, 2024 will be considered. The seven steps grant procedure is as follows:

  1. Introduction Meeting – Introduction of the EON Spatial AI R&D Grant (RDGP).
  2. Application Submission – Submission of Online Application, there are no financial obligations, binding commitments, or any liabilities with submitting the application.
  3. Committee Determination – All applications are reviewed by the RGP Committee and subject to determination within 10 days after receipt
  4. Certificate of Approval – If the application is approved, a Certificate is issued for an amount around $6,552,000.00 USD to establish the research study for up to 5,000 students and 750 work/internships based on the merits of the Application
  5. XR Solution Meeting – Deep Dive EON Spatial AI Platform demonstration for XR deployment at scale
  6. Offer Letter – After being approved, the Applicant receives the Offer Letter. The Applicant has up to 14 days to approve or decline the Offer Letter and Grant Guarantee
  7. Delivery and Implementation Plan – EON delivers the research study along with the pedagogical and technical XR experts and starts implementing the Academic EON Spatial AI Program

The Certificate of Approval is valid for 14 days. If the Offer Letter is not signed by both parties within 14 days, the Certificate of Approval expires, and the grant is repatriated to the Learn for Life Foundation for the next Applicant.

VIII. Review and Award
  1. There are no financial obligations, binding commitments, or any liabilities with submitting the application
  2.   The EON Spatial AI R&D Grant Committee, consisting of EON’s Advisory members, will determine the overall quality of each Grant application
  3. Applications will be evaluated in accordance with the criteria outlined below
  4. Additional consideration will be given to the Applicant’s potential for carrying out the project, the time commitment, and the adequacy of the justifications presented
  5. All applications will be forwarded to the EON Spatial AI R&D Grant Committee for final approval and be reviewed within 10 days after receipt
  6. If recommended for approval, it will be assigned a score by the Committee which will determine the amount to be received based on the merits of the application
  7. If your organization gets approved, you will receive a certificate which is valid for 14 days
  8. After receiving your application, EON Reality will take time to go through the agreement with you.
  9. During this time, you can approve or decline the offer letter and grant

IX. Evaluation Criteria

Once your application is admissible and eligible, EON’s Spatial AI R&D Grant Committee follows the below evaluation criteria during the evaluation.
Proposals are evaluated and scored against selection and award criteria  – organization excellence, commitment towards research in digital twin technologies, Merged XR technology, Spatial XR meetings, EON Metaverse Builder, EON Interact, EON AI Assistant, EON Spatial AI and provided experience in the fields outlined in the questionnaire below.

X. Scores

The EON Spatial AI R&D Grant Committee will score each award criterion on a scale from 0 to 5 from 0 to 5 (half point scores may be given):
0 – Proposal fails to address the criterion
1 – Poor. The criterion is inadequately addressed or there are serious inherent weaknesses.
2 – Fair. The proposal broadly addresses the criterion, but there are significant weaknesses.
3 – Good. The proposal addresses the criterion well, but a number of shortcomings are present.
4 – Very good. The proposal addresses the criterion very well, but a small number of shortcomings are present.
5 – Excellent. The proposal successfully addresses all relevant aspects of the criterion. Any shortcomings are minor.
