EON Reality and Festo Didactic are launching a Virtual Reality Aquatronics simulator at WorldSkills São Paulo 2015. This application simulates several Water and Wastewater scenarios in which users interact with a virtual water treatment plant, operate machinery, and perform emergency procedures.
The Virtual Reality Aquatronics simulator features several water and wastewater scenarios where users interact with a virtual water treatment plant, operate machinery, and perform emergency procedures. By using Virtual Reality software, users will receive hands on experience with dangerous and difficult to reproduce situations. Trainees will have the ability to learn by doing, and retaining more knowledge than the average student taking notes in the classroom.
Festo stands for innovation and technology in 176 countries throughout the world. Their aim is to maximize productivity and competitiveness for their customers. Together with the leading VR Company, EON Reality, educators and trainees will have the ability to better learn the diverse needs of the Aquatronics field, specifically by using EON Reality’s Virtual Reality software to better understand water and wastewater.
“Its synthesis of subject matter from several different areas of study lends itself to the ‘learn by doing’ aspect of Virtual Reality,” said Mikael Jacobsson, Vice President Business Development for EON Reality. “Together with Festo, we’ve been able to create an application that drives home the message about the importance of Aquatronics and showcases the importance of the profession in the global community.”
The application will be showcased at this year’s WorldSkills in São Paulo, as an innovative profession that has a place in the worldwide educational system.
