Interactive VR Lesson: Houses of the Hakka Tribe

Get up close in this interactive VR lesson to learn about the houses and history of the Hakka tribe which date back to the 11th century. First forced to leave the northern China, they eventually settled in the Southern Chinese provinces of Guangdong, Jiangxi and Fujian. Literally meaning ‘mud house’, the tulou is an unusual piece of architecture which are the hallmarks of the Hakka people. Each one will usually house around 20 families with about 100 people in total. Communal packed-earth buildings in China date back 6,000 years, but tulou took the style to a whole new level both in scale and sophistication. In 2008, Unesco recognised their importance and gave 46 buildings a World Heritage listing.

Today, there are 3000 tulous spread around the southwestern part of Fujian and the adjoining areas of Guangdong and Jiangxi. In this lesson, students can now explore the tulou and learn how these buildings served to foster the communal bonds of the Hakka people.

Take a look into the Oval Office in VR, the world’s most famous office through EON-XR. Although most Americans will never step foot in the Oval Office, you can now immerse yourself  in the history and gravitas of the office belonging to the most powerful person in the world. The ultimate work from home experience, the thirty-five feet long and twenty-nine feet wide Oval Office is large enough to accommodate both a working space and a sizable meeting area with sofas and chairs. In this lesson, students can learn about the Oval Office, the history of its existence and its place in shaping the history of America and the world.

A Closer Look into the Anatomy of the Eye

Take a closer look into the anatomy of the eye on EON-XR. With the ability to distinguish about 10 million different colors and the ability to perceive depth, the eye is one of the most complex organs in the human body. In this lesson, students learn to identify the locale and function of the eye’s anatomical parts in the effort to establish both a visual and contextual foundation needed to comprehend the physiology of the eye.

AR Flora on virtual school trip

Flora is all the plant life present in a particular region or time, generally the naturally occurring (indigenous) native plants. The corresponding term for animal life is fauna. Flora, fauna, and other forms of life, such as fungi, are collectively referred to as biota. Sometimes bacteria and fungi are also referred to as flora, as in the terms gut flora or skin flora.

Augmented Reality Zoo

How can augmented reality be used to make authentic learning environments even more engaging and meaningful? What are the opportunities and challenges associated with the development of augmented reality experiences? Through this EON-XR Platform application, participants are use mobile devices to explore animal experiences designed for 3rd-5th graders through AR remote learning.

This is a good examples of using AR remote learning technology to provide experiences that would not be possible in the actual environment. Participants have opportunities to identify capabilities of augmented reality in education.

AR Astronaut

Astronaut training describes the complex process of preparing astronauts for their space missions before, during and after the flight, which includes medical tests, physical training, extra-vehicular activity (EVA) training, procedure training, rehabilitation process, as well as training on experiments they will accomplish during their stay in space. EON Reality’s EON-XR Platform allows for users to experience augmented remote learning such as this astronaut module.

The training is geared to the special conditions and environments astronauts will be confronted with during launch, in space, and during landing. All phases of the flight must be considered during training to ensure safety to, and functionality of the astronauts, as well as to ensure a successful completion of the mission. The Apollo astronauts that walked on the Moon also received training for geology fieldwork on the Lunar surface.
