EON-XR Drives Digital Transformation in Morocco by bridging the skills gap through innovative XR solutions
IRVINE, CA., July 30, 2024 – EON Reality, the world leader in AI-assisted Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality-based knowledge transfer, in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P), Mohammed V University in Rabat (UM5), the Agency for Digital Development (ADD), the Moroccan Ministry of Industry, Investment, Trade and Digital Economy (MoI), and the Moroccan Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoE), proudly announces the successful completion of the 5-year Interactive Digital Center (IDC) Morocco project.
The joint project, conducted from April 2019 to April 2024, has achieved remarkable progress in advancing Morocco’s digital transformation and economic development through the utilization of Extended Reality (XR) technologies. By implementing training programs, developing curricula, and fostering innovation, the initiative has enhanced the skills and employability of Moroccan youth and professionals, supported the creation of new startups, and championed gender equality and inclusion within the digital economy.
The IDC played a crucial role in closing the skills gap in Morocco by offering innovative and advanced learning solutions tailored to meet labor market demands. This effort has significantly contributed to reducing youth unemployment, promoting entrepreneurship, and boosting industrial productivity.
Key achievements include:
- Comprehensive Training: The project successfully trained students in XR technologies through a comprehensive six-month training program provided by EON Reality’s Virtual Reality Innovation Academy. Educators and academic professionals were trained via EON’s Classroom 3.0 model, and the project upskilled workers through the Smart Worker Program
- Enhanced Employability: By bridging the skills gap in XR technologies, the project has significantly increased the employability of Moroccan youth and professionals.
- Innovation and Entrepreneurship: The initiative fostered a spirit of innovation, leading to the creation of new startups and improved industrial efficiency across Morocco.
- Gender Equality: With consistently high female participation rates of around 40%, the project made substantial progress in integrating women into the high-tech sector.
- Curriculum Development: Numerous new and adapted curriculums were created, facilitating digital transformation in educational institutions throughout Morocco
Mohamed Essaaidi, Chief of Party for EON Reality’s IDC Morocco project stated, “The success of the IDC Morocco project demonstrates the power of collaboration between international organizations, government entities, and educational institutions. We’re proud to have contributed to Morocco’s digital future and the empowerment of its workforce.”
This project stands as a testament to the potential of public-private partnerships in driving technological advancement and economic growth. As Morocco continues its journey towards digital transformation, the skills and innovations developed through the IDC project will play a crucial role in shaping the country’s future in the global digital economy.
