Southeast Asia’s largest EON Icube™ system enhances Nanyang Polytechnic’s Aerospace courses through immersive lessons.

SINGAPORE, August 31st 2017 – EON Reality Inc., the world leader in Virtual Reality based knowledge transfer for industry and education, and Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP), a premier institution of higher learning in Singapore, announce NYP’s expanded use of EON Reality’s EON-XR platform for Virtual Reality based education and training and installation of a four walled EON Icube system. NYP’s recently installed EON Icube is Southeast Asia’s largest and will be used with twenty Virtual Reality learning modules developed for their aerospace program.

In addition to the EON Icube™ system, NYP’s Virtual Reality training facility also includes VR ready PC’s for twenty-five students and VR systems, based on the EON Ibench Mobile software. Students can train individually or in small groups using EON Ibench Mobile based systems or learn skills in a life sized immersive setting with the EON Icube. Nanyang Polytechnic has been using EON Reality’s Virtual Reality technology since 2012.https://eonreality.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/NYP_aerospace_1.jpg”We have been using Virtual Reality based education for over 5 years and have seen very positive results amongst our students in terms of increased attention, understanding, and retention,” said Desmond Tan, Deputy Director, School of Engineering of NYP. “By deploying the 4-Wall full-scale Virtual Reality training system, we are taking this to the next level by offering truly immersive and realistic hands-on virtual learning experiences in which several students can participate at the same time – without the need for large facilities or costly physical equipment.”

They plan further expand to enabling students to use their mobile devices to access the same AR and VR content off campus, creating a Flipped Classroom with EON-XR. This will enable NYP students to conduct virtual lab experiments off-campus before coming to class where teachers and subject matter experts will guide and mentor students in the Virtual Reality labs through collaborative learning sessions.https://eonreality.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/NYP_aerospace_2.jpg“Having been fortunate to partner with innovative and forward-looking institutions such as Nanyang Polytechnic in Singapore has been of tremendous importance for EON Reality – both for creating the awareness of the benefits of using Virtual Reality for education and also for co-development of cutting-edge VR applications,” said Pontus Appelqvist, VP Asia at EON Reality. “The new EON Icube™ installation at Nanyang Polytechnic is further evidence of how schools, polytechnics and academic training facilities are expanding their use of Virtual Reality for knowledge transfer purposes, and that EON Reality’s EON-XR platform is quickly becoming their go-to solution.”
