Initiative allows global users to experience the world’s rich cultural heritage through immersive Virtual Reality experiences.
IRVINE, CA, November 12, 2014 – EON Reality Inc., the world leader in Virtual Reality based knowledge transfer for industry, education, and edutainment, has established the EON World Heritage Initiative as part of EON’s Learn for Life Program to capture, preserve, and share the world’s most valuable artifacts and locations through Virtual Reality. The World Heritage Initiative empowers nations to preserve their cultural artifacts and historical sites for future generations and bring these sites into classrooms and homes. The initial focus will be on World Heritage sites and museums in and around locations that have an Interactive Digital Center (IDC).
Beyond simple preservation, the World Heritage Initiative provides the opportunity for countries to restore locations and artifacts to their original glory without physically altering the objects or structures. Additionally, locations with historic significance to several cultures, like the Hagia Sofia in Istanbul, could be viewed at different points in time through Virtual Reality to let a viewer experience their full historical impact.
